Document Management

As part of a complete tax system, the Jersey Taxes Office required a system for the efficient and secure storage and retrieval of its documents.

A system was required to be able index documents by specific criteria such as tax identification number, as well as the usual date, author, type criteria. The system had to integrate with the existing systems and be easy for the users to migrate their documents using Microsoft Office automation.

Solution

Giant created a storage structure for the documents, a desktop application with a custom selection screen specifically for the Taxes Office which allows them to search for documents using their own references as well as standard search criteria. For editable files, the system has version control allowing users to open previous versions of a document. Document control was implemented using the organsations existing database infrastructure.

The system currently stores over 0 documents.
